ABOUT THE ROLE
Finance Manager, based out of Pommerloch, Luxembourg, is a key role reporting to the Lead Regional Controller EMEA. This role has primary responsibility for preparation and support of various aspects of the monthly close process.
The Finance Manager is responsible for managing also tax filings, reconciliation reporting, variance analysis, preparing statutory accounts, managing audits, following global accounting policies and other ad-hoc projects.
This role faces several key customers as part of both daily responsibilities and as part of project teams, including Finance, Business Unit Finance and Analytical Finance.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
Country responsibility over 7 German legal entities
Supervising annual accounts preparation and managing statutory audits
Leading the team of 7 finance professionals
Reviewing monthly income tax calculation, quarterly income tax provision - current and deferred taxes, income tax accounting
Partnering with EMEA core finance team in their various projects and initiatives
Key contact person for corporate Tax, Accounting, Legal and Treasure functions when it comes to German statutory and compliance matters
Takes ownership and drives completion of other activities and processes such as SOX, external audits, tax audits and internal audits
Other financial information submissions
Working with external consultants on annual income tax return preparation and Transfer Pricing documentation
Supervising all SAP general ledger and all accounting activities. Primary responsibilities include managing the monthly and quarterly closing process for Germany, company financial statements, including providing direct oversight to other corporate accounting functions and reviewing journal entries and reconciliations of judgmental and / or complex balance sheet and income statements accounts.
Managing the liquidity flow for the German legal entity collaborating with Regional and Corporate Treasury
Lease accounting support
Owns initiatives to improve and create new process where applicable, to optimize and standardize our global accounting processes in local company.
Manages team members and works cross functionally with those in other areas, such as Analytical Finance, Treasury and Tax, to drive process improvements that result in more effective and efficient monthly and quarterly close processes
Responsible for leading the efforts to finalize the preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting requirements, including, but not limited to, journal entries, reconciliations, analysis of activities and reporting.
Specific areas of responsibility include primary oversight of the Corporate accounting process and capital authorization approval process, various judgmental accruals and reserves, as well as assistance with other miscellaneous close activities
Assists and provides cross functional support, guidance and escalation management of activities from our internal business partners

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Essential
Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
7 years + experience in Finance and Accounting according to German law
Income Tax / VAT practical knowledge according to German law
Proficiency in written and spoken German and English
Strong communication skills
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership role and operating in a manufacturing environment with a hands-on mentality.
Organizational skills, a self-starter with high level of analytical skills and resilience
Working knowledge of SAP highly desirable
Desirable
CPA, ACCA or local equivalent completed
Experience with US GAAP and SOX Compliance
Working knowledge of Hyperion
