2.1 Job Purpose
Responsible for driving quality and champion defect prevention / early defect detection in the nonfunctional area
Responsible for using business analysis and business usage metrics to drive nonfunctional testing activities
Responsible for non-functional test case creation and execution, maximizing automation (Medium / High complexity)
2.2 Primary Responsibilities
Execution and Operational Excellence :
Significant contribution to project / program test strategies and plans in the area of nonfunctional testing activities
Responsible for the adoption of quality engineering practices for nonfunctional areas
Provide feedback to development teams on quality of deliverables
Projects and Initiatives :
Accountable for driving the development of production work load models and overseeing test environments requirements and solutions scaled to run close to prod’ performance tests
Accountable for ensuring security tests are performed and issues are resolved
Responsible for reviewing nonfunctional requirements and development activities to ensure full understanding of the scope of work and optimal ways to validate solutions
Responsible for creating and maximizing automation for all project nonfunctional deliverables
Responsible for following defined QE processes and tools usage and intent
Responsible for following agreed upon processes for test results storage, defect tracking and defect verification and supporting project metrics tracking
Partners across IT and with assigned business lines to test new or existing software in order to ensure nonfunctional requirements are met.
Responsible for coaching and mentoring junior resources
Skills & Requirements
Typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience
Experience with analysis of Nonfunctional requirements from performance and security perspective for agile and non-agile projects.
Hands on experience in performance test case design and analysis of results at different levels (component / service, integration, end to end / user scenarios), security testing and other types on nonfunctional testing
Hands on experience developing production work load models and coordinate test environments scaled to run close to prod’ performance tests
Hands on experience with Environment mapping of performance testing environment against production
Hands on experience with Diagnostics processes and tool such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics in non-production environment to diagnose performance bottlenecks early during delivery life cycle.
Hands on experience with leveraging service virtualization for Performance Testing
Hands on experience with Network virtualization for Mobile Performance testing
Hands on experience with Performance testing for mobile devices and cross browser
Hands on experience with Mobile ready Performance testing tools and associated protocols such as True Client protocols
Hands on expertise in a variety of performance test frameworks / tools (e.g., HP LoadRunner, JMeter, etc.), monitoring tools (e.
g., Dynatrace) and script development using scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python, Bash, etc.)
Hands-on programming experience (e.g., Java, C, SQL DB querying) and source configuration tools (GIT, SVN, MKS, etc.)
Experience in a QA / test environment with a focus on technical, automated testing in a variety of environments (distributed, cloud and mainframe, business workflows and services / APIs, databases)
In-depth knowledge of a variety of testing techniques and methodologies
Hands on experience to analyze complex business ecosystems to understand business logic and processes, including data attributes and data business rules
Experience working with software delivery methodologies, frameworks and best practices (Agile and Iterative Waterfall) and DevOps operations and integration of testing into the DevOps pipeline
Very good communication skills; ability to focus and prioritize and solve complex technical problems
Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related (technical) degree / diploma
Experience reviewing artefacts including code reviews (application and test automation scripts)
Experience with non-functional testing (performance, UI / UX, Accessibility, etc.)
Experience working in a scrum / agile or iterative waterfall development environment
Experience as test engineer and / or developer
Certifications : ISTQB
Experience with cloud solutions such as ElasticSearch and Kafka and frameworks such as Spring
