In the EU Direct Fulfillment (DF) team our wildly important goal (WIG) is to exceed the expectations of all our customers by ensuring that their orders, no matter how large or small are delivered as fast as feasibly possible, safely, on time, in full every time.

We are looking to hire a skilled and motivated person to develop robust transportation capabilities for the delivery of specialty shipments across Europe.

This role is all about creating a robust supply chain with internal and external Carriers, ensuring a smooth and efficient delivery process as a platform for sustainable growth and significant scaling of the business.

You will have the opportunity to bring your own leadership capabilities to the role, creating value through managing relationships and driving discipline in operations.

Reporting to the Head of Direct Fulfillment Transportation for Europe, as a Senior Program Manager, you will be a key contributor to the future technology roadmap and long term vision of Direct Fulfillment within Amazon’s Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) team.

In addition to general management of Carriers and Carrier operations, the position will be responsible for exploring strategic and tactical scenarios, designing solutions, developing business cases, and managing complex projects as part of continuously improving the efficiency of transportation network.

To be successful in this role, you need an aptitude for making data-driven decisions that will have direct impact on the customer experience.

Our environment is deadline driven, fast paced, and requires you to be detail-oriented and comfortable interacting and working with multiple teams (business and technical).

Key to your success, therefore, will be the ability to lead through influence across various stakeholder groups. Most critical will be the ability to operate at a bigger picture and tactical level in designing operations and improvement programs, while simultaneously ensuring rigor in operational execution as a key member of the EU team.

Key job responsibilities

Design and build a transportation capacity strategy with a 1-3 year horizon.

Cross-functional work with the Amazon Transportation teams, Supply Chain, Warehouses and the Retail organizations to determine future demand for Transportation resources.

Translate the aforementioned into accurate capacity plans and drive market strategy and budget planning along with senior Finance partners.

Cost Reduction : Identify and drive cost reduction opportunities via improved LSP efficiency and reduced operational cost and charges.

Drive tech solutions to reduce dependencies on variable labor cost. Consistently benchmark across lead time, cost and sustainability (emissions) to determine the best options for DF routings and shipments.

Responsible for Carrier Allocation to secure sufficient capacity especially for Prime week and Peak season and drive overall success on safety, reliability and delivery accuracy, cost, services, safety.

Key Performance Indicator (KPI) owner : Ensure that DF shipments are delivered to the end customer On Time, In Full and Invoiced Correctly (OTIFIC) according to the agreed performance standards

Logistics Service Provider (LSP) Management : Serve as Control Tower to oversee LSP performance.

EU Retail : Work closely with Vendor-facing teams & AMXL to meet and improve the internal SLAs between EU DF and these internal organizations.

Identify and solve conflicts with customer-obsession, frugality and a data-driven mindset.

Service expansion : Work with DF Global Product, Tech and Capability teams to evaluate, develop, or support new product / service programs that add value to customers and Amazon business teams.

Risk Management : Develop plans to smooth peak period operations. Identify at-risk parts of the operations and develop / execute contingency protocols to avoid service failures.

Performance Management : Maintain accurate reporting on key market and Carrier metrics. Prepare and lead regular business reviews with internal stakeholders and Leaders (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly Business Reviews)

Process : Take ownership for the development and Continuous Improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidelines and new processes mapping and engage all key stakeholders to ensure end-to-end alignment and effective hand-offs.

Process : Own continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, cost efficiency, reliability, high standard service and sustainability.

Your Profile# Degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain, Mathematics or similar field

Fluency in verbal and spoken English is required.

Proven track record of managing medium and large scale complex projects or programs.

Proven analytical thinking, data management, conversion of strategy to operation, continuous improvement experience and organizational skills.

Demonstrated experience in performing analysis and solving problems.

Advanced proficiency in Excel.PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR IN ENGLISHPreferred Qualifications# Advanced degree - MBA, MSC in supply chain, business administration, finance, or similar field would be advantageous

2+ years of experience with Amazon Transportation, Supply Chain, Operations or Procurement

Familiarity with the European transportation market.

Proficient in data analysis and its tools such as SQL and VBA to manage large set of data is a nice to have but not mandatory.
