DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES : This senior managerialposition is within the Private Equity Fund Services Business Unitof the State Street Alternative Investment Solutions Group.

Theposition interacts with all levels of professionals both internallyand externally. Therefore, exceptional interpersonal andcommunication skills are required.

Candidates must demonstrateinitiative, be able to perform well under pressure andsimultaneously handle multiple assignments.

The position isresponsible for managing client relationships and managing anddirecting the overall accounting and administration for severalclient sponsored

  • Manage day-to-day communications with contactsof one or more clients, including investment professionals, clientpersonnel, investors, attorneys, auditors, bankers, etc
  • Directand / or indirect management and supervision of all subordinate stafflevels
  • Coordinate discussion and documentation of portfolioinvestment valuations with clients, as necessary
  • Full review ofaccounting and tax work paper packages, financial statements andother reports and communications for one or more clients
  • Coordinate and manage annual audit and tax return preparation withBig 4 accounting firms, including negotiation or review of fees, asnecessary
  • Thorough review and understanding of investment fundlegal documents, including complete understanding of partnershipallocations and distribution waterfalls
  • Ensure the developmentand implementation of training for all levels of accounting staffand management
  • Coordinate and liaise with other operating groups(investor communications, financial reporting, tax, etc) to ensureeffective communication among operating groups
  • Assist withdevelopment and implementation of SSPEFS accounting policies andprocedures
  • Review and approve all transactions (money movement,trades, etc.) in accordance with established guidelines
  • Assistwith execution and implementation of FASB and other technicalaccounting pronouncements, as necessary
  • Represent SSPEFS atperiodic client meetings, present and discuss business results andinitiatives
  • Participate in industry sponsored trade shows,seminars and other events.
  • Meet all requirements for theperformance planning process including goal setting, regular andimmediate feedback and submission of formalized performanceappraisals
  • Coordinate and manage special client and corporateprojects Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
  • Candidatesmust have a college degree (accounting degree strongly preferred;business, mathematics, finance or economics degree required)
  • Knowledge of private equity and real estate funds
  • Substantialprevious fund accounting experience, including managerialexperience
  • Excellent administrative, organisational and businesssupport skills, with the ability to multi-task and to work calmlyunder pressure.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office suiteincluding Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong written & verbalcommunication skills
  • Possess excellent organisational, planningand co-ordination skills.
