JOB DESCRIPTION We are looking for a Business Manager / Site Manager to join our Contract Logistics team in Contern, Luxembourg.

Your Role

The Business Manager / Site Manager is responsible for maintaining, creating, and implementing strategies and operations, operational excellence, and customer management, in line with the overall company strategy for the Contract Logistics Business Unit.

Your responsibilities would also be related to managing, operating and developing profitable logistics operations on different locations in Luxembourg, while also leading a Contract Logistics team.

Your Responsibilities

  • Monitoring market trends and competitor activity in order to identify new business opportunities;
  • Managing customer relations, developing the existing client base and collaborate with the Business Development team in validating offers to new customers;
  • Managing and continuously optimizing Contract Logistics operations by further developing processes, IT applications and operational control systems (KPI);
  • Implementation of new process and technologies to fit with customer’s strategy and cost optimization;
  • Creating and monitoring the annual budget, initiating corrective actions in case of deviations;
  • Treatment and control of the financial instruments of the relevant divisions (e.g. P / L, FSL, etc.);
  • Selecting, recruiting and continuously reviewing the performance of Contract Logistics staff in co-operation with the HR department and promoting the development of talents.
  • Your Skills and Experiences

  • Bachelor or Master degree preferably in Logistics and several years’ experience in Logistics, preferably gained in a 3PL environment or gained in competitive service based industries;
  • Strong sense of visionary Leadership;
  • Proven commercial skills, able to build relations with customers at senior level and to lead customer negotiations;
  • Experience in people management and ability to motivate and lead people also under pressure;
  • Well-developed communicative, social and entrepreneurial competence;
  • Flexibility and a high level of readiness for use and efficiency;
  • Strong affinity with required customer quality standards;
  • Language skills : fluency in English and at least one more European language.
