The Amazon Marketplace Professional Services (AMPS) team is seeking a Web Developer for Learning & Development Team who is self-motivated, results-driven and capable of working in a dynamic environment.

The EU Amazon Marketplace Learning & Development Team looks for an accomplished and experienced Web Developer to build and sustain engaging, interactive, low-latency, web-based tools and applications to support employees' growth.

The Web Developer will innovate and find creative execution options for instructional materials such as job aids, guides, presentation decks with best-in-class visualisation and gamification on the Learning Management System (LMS) system, this can be extended to blended-training assets covering self-paced and Instructor-led courses periodically.

  • The Web Developer will elevate the user-experience and functionality of learning related web-based products. Working closely with non-technical customers and stakeholders to define and scope requirements;
  • the web developer will adopt and promote best practices for web development, including code quality, version control, documentation, testing, deployment and maintenance.

    Role may be based in Luxembourg, or other regional offices across EU.

    Other responsibilities in this role include :

  • Collaborating with learning experience designers to build online courses and modules using audio-visual and learning authoring tools.
  • Working with subject matter experts, managers, and colleagues to design and develop learning materials.
  • Creating learning content using live action video captures to composite post-production, VFX, multimedia interactives, software simulations, motion graphics, animated videos, user interfaces, photos and illustrations.
  • Managing vendors sourced for video production as needed.
  • Pursuing a deep understanding of learner roles to ensure that learning solutions meet the needs of learners.
  • Defining features and technology strategy for LMS. Ensuring the right product are delivered and aligned with stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with product and UX teams on the features and functions needed to deliver innovative learning activities.

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in designing online instructional activities to support adult learners in eLearning; experience with online course authoring technologies such as Rise, Captivate, Storyline, and Camtasia
  • 3+ years of experience developing web-based learning solutions, using the appropriate mix of development and prototyping languages and tools (e.
  • g., ability to code in HTML, JavaScript, and / or similar languages to create web sites, learning portals, and other technical assets).

  • 1+ year experience in creating and compositing live action video recordings.
  • Experience in designing and developing instructor-led content with technical subject matter content
  • Experience in delivering a blended learning environment including : eLearning, virtual training and distance learning methods, classroom / instructor-led training, and on-the-job training / mentoring
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design best practices; demonstrated experience applying this knowledge to distill complex concepts into intuitive and engaging experiences.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication, including ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and levels of the organization.
  • Proven web development experience across multiple devices and browsers.
  • Advanced experience designing for blended and virtual learning experiences.
  • Solid project management skills including planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks / projects on track, using time well, and delivering results.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple leaders, SMEs, front-line managers, and frontline employees.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in assessing training effectiveness and ROI to managers, leaders, and business partners.
