The Fund Legal Department is primarily responsible for the legal work in relation to the set-up, restructuring and liquidation of investment funds (chiefly domiciled in the Cayman Islands) administered by Nomura Bank (Luxembourg) S.A.
The Fund Legal Department is also in charge of company secretarial tasks for the Cayman Islands-domiciled subsidiaries of NBL as well as monitoring of the legislations and regulations applicable to our business activities.
In order to reinforce the team in place, we are looking for an experienced lawyer to join the Fund Legal Department.
Communication and coordination with various departments within NBL - Safekeeping of original documents and database maintenance -
Company secretary functions for the Cayman subsidiaries of NBL - Monitoring of the updates of the relevant laws and regulations -
Supervision of junior lawyers in the team and support the head of the team with team organization.
Job requirements : - Master’s degree in law (preferably from a common law jurisdiction) - Bar admission in any jurisdiction desirable -
7 to 10 years fund legal experience as a law firm lawyer or as an in-house counsel at a financial institution - Good understanding of investment fund regulations, structures and procedures for setup, restructuring and liquidation, especially in relation to funds domiciled in the Cayman Islands -
General knowledge of company secretary functions for investment funds’ trustee company and management company - Excellent command of English, both spoken and written -
Excellent legal drafting and analytical skills with attention to details - Sound judgment in compliance with laws, regulations and professional ethics as well as common sense and commercial reasonability -
Responsiveness with regard to the assigned daily work and to various external and internal requests and inquiries - Self-
starter with stress resilience and hands-on approach - Good communication skills, open-mindedness, and flexibility to adapt to an international and multicultural office environment.
