We are currently looking for an Apprentice Repairs Technician to join Thales in Orlando, FL. The Apprentice Repairs Technician is responsible for assisting in maintenance & testing activities in the Repair Department.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Functional Testing of instruments and avionics
  • Cleaning of equipment (circuit boards & sub-assemblies)
  • Print Identification Labels, Modification Labels, and Miscellaneous Labels
  • Must be able to perform various maintenance / repair activities under general supervision
  • Assist in Material Creation Process
  • Assist in housekeeping efforts of the Repair Department
  • Assist Repair Department personnel as required to meet Thales goals & commitments
  • Work under close supervision and review, usually carrying out tasks at the specific direction of another technician
  • This position will work a rotating shift nights, weekends and holidays may be required
  • Overtime and flexible schedules may be required
  • Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally and / or up to twenty (20) pounds frequently
  • Frequent use of Hand / finger fine motor skills and dexterity required to handle small parts and to operate hand tools.
  • Repair Station environment may present elevated noise levels
  • Required Skills and Experience :

  • High School Diploma or GED with 0-2 years of work experience in Electronics or Aviation Assembly
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Prior military or commercial avionics repair experience preferred
  • FAA Repair Certificate a plus
  • Understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations and other governing regulatory requirements
  • Able to meticulously document incoming product condition and maintenance activities
