We are currently looking for an Apprentice Repairs Technician to join Thales in Orlando, FL. The Apprentice Repairs Technician is responsible for assisting in maintenance & testing activities in the Repair Department.
Key Responsibilities :
Functional Testing of instruments and avionics
Cleaning of equipment (circuit boards & sub-assemblies)
Print Identification Labels, Modification Labels, and Miscellaneous Labels
Must be able to perform various maintenance / repair activities under general supervision
Assist in Material Creation Process
Assist in housekeeping efforts of the Repair Department
Assist Repair Department personnel as required to meet Thales goals & commitments
Work under close supervision and review, usually carrying out tasks at the specific direction of another technician
This position will work a rotating shift nights, weekends and holidays may be required
Overtime and flexible schedules may be required
Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally and / or up to twenty (20) pounds frequently
Frequent use of Hand / finger fine motor skills and dexterity required to handle small parts and to operate hand tools.
Repair Station environment may present elevated noise levels
Required Skills and Experience :
High School Diploma or GED with 0-2 years of work experience in Electronics or Aviation Assembly
Preferred Qualifications :
Prior military or commercial avionics repair experience preferred
FAA Repair Certificate a plus
Understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations and other governing regulatory requirements
Able to meticulously document incoming product condition and maintenance activities
