The Public Policy Manager, EU Transportation Services, will lead the public policy team’s advocacy efforts for Amazon’s transportation policy (road, air and rail transportation) at the EU level.
The Public Policy Manager will also coordinate Amazon’s engagement in relevant trade associations and coalitions and assist with outreach to relevant Member State authorities.
The successful candidate will work with the EU public policy, legal, Amazon Transportation Services, public relations and global trade services to establish the public policy and advocacy agenda for the aforementioned areas.
The Public Policy Manager will be responsible for effectively educating policymakers, key government officials, and their staff about Amazon excellence in the field of transportation and our efforts to put customers first and innovate.
Following Amazon's public announcement regarding the Climate Pledge, an ambitious commitment to be carbon neutral by 2040, the Public Policy Manager will advise Amazon Transportation Services in Europe on policy considerations to support large investments and business transformation to contribute to these public goals.
The Public Policy Manager will monitor and report relevant legislative and regulatory activity, develop positioning and mitigation / engagement strategies, and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives in concert with business objectives.
As appropriate, the Public Policy Manager will work with others on the European Public Policy team to facilitate high-level meetings for executives and business leaders with key policymakers, association executives, and other relevant stakeholders.
As a member of the EU public policy team, the Public Policy Manager will cultivate relationships with the EU Commission and the Parliament.
Whenever relevant EU legislation would benefit from national level engagement, he / she will inform the country team. The Public Policy Manager will work with the team to determine, maintain, and staff appropriate corporate membership opportunities in industry associations and political organizations.
The position can be based in Munich, Brussels or in one of Amazon’s country head offices (London, Paris, Munich, Luxembourg, Madrid).
The candidate will be expected to spend a significant time in Luxembourg for the purposes of interacting with key business stakeholders.
The role reports to the Sr. Manager of Public Policy overseeing EU operations, business growth and expansion initiatives, based in Luxembourg.
