The position holder primary responsibility is to assist the Manager Material Management in charge of 6 departments within Material Management division in the Maintenance and Engineering Group at Cargolux.

The departments are :

Aeronautical Purchasing : in charge of Purchase Orders for Aircraft Parts

Material Planning : in charge of planning Aircraft Material for stock and scheduled maintenance checks

Material Repairs : in charge of Repair Orders for Aircraft parts and tools

Critical Material Supply Desk : in charge of sourcing material for AOG (Aircraft On Ground) and critical situations

Material Service Desk : in charge of handling transactions of pooled parts for our Customer GATS (Global Aviation Technical Solution)

Warranty & Accident and Damage : in charge of claiming warranty remedies and establishing cost related to A&D events.

The position holder main tasks will be :

Collect and analyze data to establish KPI’s

Review and analyze BO reports to proactively prevent low stock situations.

Attend meetings with internal and external Customers / Suppliers

Participate to contract discussions and negotiations with Vendors

Review and approve order’s quotations as per responsibility matrix

Monitor mandatory trainings attendance by team members

Review and update procedures to reflect current working processes

Lead and participate to specific projects

Conduct employee’s performance evaluation

Analyze and answer Audit findings and Maintenance Safety Reports

Assure effective communication with departments within Cargolux.

Review department performance with respective supervisors in charge

Propose process improvements in line with Lean and 5S principles

Review and follow-up end-user certificate requests from Vendor, liaise with Compliance to resolve issues

Monitor invoices on hold and liaise with Finance / Vendors to resolve issues

Takes over Material Management Manager’s responsibilities during his absence.

Essential Requirements For The Position :

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics or in a similar filed; Master degree would be considered as an advantage

  • At least 5 years of working experience in a position linked to Material Management, Material Repairs, Warehouse Management or any other relevant field;
  • experience in Maintenance & Engineering field would be considered as an advantage

    Excellent analytical skills are a main requirement for the position

    Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels

    Methodical and organized way of working, high attention to detail

    Dealing effectively with complexity and having good problem solving skills

    Ability to handle and resolve conflicts

    Goal-oriented approach

    Strong time management skills and being able to take decisions within tight deadlines

    Ability to plan and prioritize work aligned with organizational goals

    Feeling comfortable to work in a team as well as autonomously

    Fluency in written and spoken English, other languages are a distinct advantage

    Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook)

    Working Conditions :

    Position based in Luxembourg

    Flexibility is needed with working hours

    Occasional travel required
