For one of our clients, a European Institution, we are looking for an :

Operational Risk Officer

Accountabilities :

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Operational Risk Officer :

  • Participate in the coordination of the assessment of the Internal Control Framework (ICF), including its effectiveness;
  • Manage the relationship with external auditors in the context of external assessments in compliance with ISAE assurance standards;
  • Prepare Operational Risk Management reports;
  • Analyse incidents, prepare Operational Risk Event reports and any other regular reports and follow-up on any relevant Agreed Action Points;
  • Identify the need for new controls, discuss with the Head of Unit / Division and liaise with the relevant parties for implementation;
  • Contribute to the smooth and timely deployment of the Operational Risk Management Framework.
  • Qualifications :

  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Law preferable;
  • At least 3 years’ relevant professional experience in an operational risk assessment or audit role, preferably in the financial industry or an EU institution;
  • Previous involvement in the performance or the coordination of an internal control assessment based on ISAE-3402 or ISAE-3000 assurance standards represents a distinct advantage;
  • A good understanding of banking / insurance, investment funds and financial products will be deemed an advantage;
  • Exposure to a risk management environment is a distinct advantage, particularly in the analysis of processes and procedures;
  • A good knowledge of English, both oral and written, is mandatory. Excellent English drafting skills are a requirement.
  • Competencies :

  • Ability to autonomously manage operational risk activities with guidance;
  • Discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive information;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Very good interpersonal and networking skills;
  • Excellent analytical skills;
  • Good knowledge of standard IT tools, particularly Excel;
  • Resistance to stress and ability to deliver good quality work under tight deadlines;
  • Capacity to plan and organise own work.
  • What we offer :

  • A temporary contract for 2 months with a possibility to be extended
  • A salary depending on your skills and experience : 40K-55K
