Your Role
Successful candidates will join a strong and motivated research group led by Prof. Dr. Gilbert Fridgen. The group consists of doctoral and post-doctoral researchers coming from different technology-related disciplines to pursue leading edge research and to transfer the results into practice.
Based on the broad variety of industries and sectors that are reshaped by digital transformation, successful candidates will have the opportunity to investigate other research areas and design an individual research portfolio.
As such, successful candidates will be able to align the skills that they learn pursuing a doctorate with their personal goals and interests.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to build an important contribution to shape the future of mobility in Luxembourg.
Therefore, you will be among other research activities working together in a research project with the foundation of Enovos Luxembourg S.
A., the major energy supplier in Luxembourg. The topic of the project is Incentivized Charging Scheduling for Electrical Vehicles and it concerns the development of an EV charging scheduling system which is attractive to end users, fits into energy suppliers market strategies, and maximizes the benefits of all involved parties without overloading the energy grid infrastructure.
The project is held in close collaboration with the technical committee of the Enovos Foundation and, as the successful candidate, you will be expected to program prototype tools showcasing the practical benefits of your research outcomes.
Next to these activities, successful candidates will carry out research in the context of Prof. Fridgen’s PayPal-FNR PEAL Research Grant with the topic digitalization of energy systems.

Experience : The ideal candidate should have some knowledge and / or experience in a number of the following topics :
The ideal candidate should furthermore have a strong interest in digitalization and electric mobility. Skills in related domains (e.
g. financial markets) will be appreciated.
Language Skills : Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are required. Knowledge of German or Luxembourgish is desirable.
Qualification : The candidate should possess an MSc degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
We require commitment, team working, and a critical mind of the candidate. Proven research experience will be considered as an advantage (publications, awards, and other relevant aspects included in the CV will be considered).
