The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance offers three Bachelor programmes, four Master programmes of Management and Economics and six Masters of Laws as well as several continuing education courses.

It also includes the Doctoral School in Law and the Doctoral School in Economics and Finance. Around 2,500 students from 90 different nationalities are enrolled at the Faculty.

Academic staff from 18 different nationalities teach at the Faculty, supported by practitioners from the field, visiting scholars and guest professors.

Rooted in Luxembourg but with a European and international outlook , the Faculty counts three departments :

    In the context of the (DTU DILLAN) Professor André Prüm is opening one funded PhD position. The doctoral candidate is expected to develop and work on a project relating to Decision Making in Financial and Currency Regulation.

    Topics may include (but are not limited to) the legal features of virtual and crypto currencies, the governance of the blockchains on which they are built, their regulation by public authorities especially by central banks, their prudential treatment in banking regulation, the legal issues raised by the clearing of payments done in virtual currencies from a transactional perspective.

    Your Role

  • The doctoral candidate will conduct research under the guidance of Prof. Prüm with the aim of studying towards a PhD in Law.
  • The doctoral candidate will publish research results and present them at conferences, workshops, etc.
  • S / he shall contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials.
  • Your Profile

  • Master’s degree in Law.
  • Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment : fluency in English, good understanding of French and possibly a third language.
  • The thesis may be written either in English or in French.

  • Strong interest in interdisciplinary research.
  • Excellent communication and team working skills are required.
