Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and member of the Finance team, the Accounting Team Leader manages the overall accounting of the company and is responsible for the functional lead of the Accountants.

The Accounting Team Leader works close together with the Accounting team members, as well as with other departments within Finance.

The Accounting Team Leader will be able to represent the company towards external parties on Accounting matters.

The position requires an experienced accountant and bookkeeper, that can manage confidential information, willing to oversee and support all accounting tasks in a team with 3 other Accountants.

As the most senior member of the Accounting Team, the Accounting Team Leader is able to set a good example, ensuring the training of new accountants and assist more junior members of the team in their professional development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Functional lead of the Accounting Team :
  • Oversee and coordinate the daily accounting activities and the team members in their accounting tasks;
  • Conduct team meetings, cross-team interactions and one to ones with team members on frequent basis;
  • Resolve complex accounting issues and assist other Finance departments and the CFO in resolving financial issues;
  • Review general ledger on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of postings;
  • Oversee and coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities;
  • Enforce proper accounting methods, policies and procedures;
  • Ensure proper and organized set of detailed records and files to document financial transactions;
  • Ensure communication to, from and within the Accounting Team;
  • Ensure collaborative spirit within the Accounting Team and culture of the company’s values;
  • Support the team members in their professional development;
  • Report on professional performance of the team members to the CFO.
  • Key SPOC for Accounting activities towards the CFO;
  • Ensure the filing of monthly, yearly VAT returns, EC sales lists and preparing working documents for Tax declarations;
  • Ensure the filing of annual corporate tax with external consultant;
  • Ensure that any other tax related tasks are performed on timely manner, such as residence certificates, information to federal administration (STATEC reports, FEDIL, etc);
  • Handling of payroll and related tax / accounting issues;
  • Accounting activities as support / backup for the Accountants;
  • Participating in company wide projects where expertise will be required.
  • MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree Education Level in Accounting, Finance or Economy (3 years after A-Level);
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and spoken skills;
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in similar position in Luxembourg;
  • Good knowledge and mastering of ERPs or any;
  • Proficient in MS Office, most particularly in Excel;
  • Able to structure work logically and efficiently;
  • Able to deliver work of a high standard with attention to detail;
  • Good interpersonal skills and management of confidential information.
  • NICE TO HAVE REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge and experience working with SAP-FI / CO is an asset;
  • Knowledge of the energy markets is an asset;
  • Able to execute tasks under strict deadlines;
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Open-minded and proactive;
  • Dynamic, flexible and reliable.
  • Additional Requirement :

    According to the Luxembourg law of July 23rd 2016 (as amended), the successful applicant will be required to provide a Criminal Record before signing the employment contract.
