The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) invites applications from PhD holders in the general area of cryptography and protocol security.
SnT is carrying out interdisciplinary research in secure, reliable and trustworthy ICT systems and services, often in collaboration with industrial, governmental or international partners.
SnT is active in several international research projects funded by the EU H2020 and the European Space Agency.

Your Role
The successful candidate will join the APSIA group led by Prof. Peter Y.A. Ryan. The candidate will contribute to a research project in future-proofing privacy of secure electronic voting led by Dr.
Johannes Müller. The candidate will perform the following tasks :
Shaping research directions and producing results in one or more of the following topics : Protocol security Post-quantum cryptography Information-theoretic security Implementation of security protocols
Disseminating results through scientific publications
Coordinating research projects and delivering outputs
Attracting funding in cooperation with academic and industrial partners
Providing guidance to PhD and MSc students
Your Profile
A PhD degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or a related field
Competitive research record in applied cryptography or protocol security (at least one paper in top 10 IT security conferences)
Strong mathematical background
Commitment, team working and a critical mind
Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory
Experience with secure e-voting or security proofs is a plus
Experience with post-quantum cryptography or information-theoretic security is a plus
Experience with implementation of security protocols is a plus
