As part of the SnT’s TTO he / she will be in charge of
Implementing and further developing the IP management process from identification of IP and filing invention disclosures up to protection and commercialisation;
Overviewing and managing the IP portfolio with the objective to ensure adequate valorisation of research results;
Developing IP scouting and marketing activities;
doing preliminary prior-to-art and novelty checks of inventions and due diligence of IP in collaboration with the University Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office as well as with external IP attorneys and external business development advisors;
Initiating and leading negotiations on IP licensing agreements in the context of research collaborations with industry, research grants awarded from funding agencies and the creation of spin-offs;
Supporting the Partnership Development officers and research groups on all IP related issues during the negotiation of research partnership contracts with Industry;
Building and maintaining trusted relationships with research groups and industry partners and be their first point of contact at the SnT for IP issues;
Liaise and network with national and European innovation funding agencies.
The Technology Transfer officer will be part of a small multidisciplinary team under construction at the SnT and will report to its Head of TTO.
He / she will tightly collaborate with the colleagues of SnT in charge of partnership acquisition, project coordination, legal advisory as well as with other units from the University, particularly the University Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office.
The profile of the candidate shall meet the following requirements :
Have a passion for digital technologies and business model innovation
Demonstrate solid experience and track record in technology transfer, IP management and more generally in bringing research results to the market and transform them into innovation;
Have a business experience in the fields of ICT and digital services in general and particularly in telecom, cybersecurity, data analytics, artificial intelligence, robotics or other areas relevant in the SnT research application areas;
Have a proven record of success and hands-on development of high value R&D funding, translation and commercialisation opportunities
Have well developed networking and negotiation skills with a can-do attitude and a strong desire to make a difference
Have the ability to quick start and self-manage
Ideally have a first working experience in Luxembourg and be fluent in French or German in addition to English.
