Administrator, Windows SCM and Patch Management
The position is responsible for all Windows client SCM planning, setup, deployment and maintenance tasks including Operating System and third-
party Software Patch Management, Client GPO Management, Client Operating System management, Definitive Medial Library management, as well as desktop image management.
This role is focusing on the global IT support Server infrastructure administration, the Windows client Software and Security Patch Management and the Windows Client GPO’s, whilst the second Admin is focusing on Definitive Media Library, Image Management and Client Software deployment.
Manage and maintain the Global IT Support Server infrastructure for Patch management and Computer and Software deployment
Manage and maintain an always up-to-date and accurate corporate Windows Client OS, Software and Security Patch Management system
Responsible for maintaining and improving the Windows Client OS, Software and Security Patch Management process
Coordinate with the Security team the deployment of Security patches and the implementation of Windows Client GPOs in regards to DoD Secure Technical Implementation guides (STIG) and vulnerability results
Define and execute appropriate test plans for windows client software and security patch management, new or updated software packages and operating systems
Plan, define and Implement changes for global SW and Security client patch management and IT Support Server Infrastructure management, following the corporate Change Management process
Perform technical research leading to solutions for system and software limitations
Troubleshoot any problem in relation to the IT Support Server Infrastructure, the patch management or the Client GPO settings and recommend appropriate solution
Coordinate troubleshooting with other IT departments and / or Software Manufacturers
Create accurate, detailed technical procedures and installation instructions
Act as backup for Definitive Media Library administration, Image Management and Client software deployment
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Three to five years of proven working experience in a company with central Computer management, Software deployment and Patch Management
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft OS installations and network configurations on Servers and Clients
Excellent proven knowledge of enterprise wide Patch management for OS, client software and Security Patch Management
Ability to design and implement Windows client SCM within accepted corporate guidelines
Experience managing Microsoft Active Directory including implementations of GPO’s based off STIG and vulnerability requirements
Good knowledge of Symantec Altiris is an advantage
General knowledge of databases and SQL queries
Experience in managing Software deployment system
Ability to define and execute appropriate test plans and scenarios
Good scripting knowledge PowerShell, Java, etc.
General knowledge of Virtual machines
Microsoft Certifications are an advantage
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Openness for new technologies and readiness for change
Stress resistant and able to manage multiple tasks at the same time
Have the ability to work autonomously and effectively with others towards achieving common goals
