Contribute to and maintain system standards.
Develop and maintain software and hardware installation and configuration instructions.
Install, assemble, configure, administer and maintain LIH systems software and hardware and related infrastructure.
Provide updates on progress and encountered difficulties in its day-to-day activities.
Develop internal procedures validated by the IT Manager.
Propose new ideas and concepts to improve the current system (security, productivity, etc.).
Analyze and evaluate risks inherent to the information system and suggest improvements.
Analyze the needs and the restraints related to the IT infrastructures and suggest innovative and relevant solutions to the research units.
Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements;
designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems;
escalating problems to vendor.
Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.
KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Master degree in Information Technology (preferably in networking / security field).
Previous professional experience of at least 5 years in a similar position.
Good organizational and relational skills and analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Good knowledge of the following :
Brands : Palo Alto, Fortigate, F5 (Loadbalancing / Proxy), Cisco,
Concepts : AD / LDAP, Radius, 802.1x, Antispam, Reverse proxy, DNS, SNMP, Cacti, Network Access Control, VPN (IPSec / SSL), IPS / IDS,
Network : DWDM (multiplexing), VLAN, Routing, QoS, Firewalling, Sandboxing, Certificates (PKI), RSTP, WiFi,
Language skills : fluent in French and English (written and oral), knowledge of another language especially Luxembourgish is an asset.
General skills : customer service skills, ability to work under pressure, writing skills, disaster planning, troubleshooting skills, learning skills.
Specific skills : network performance tuning, deep network knowledge, network design and implementation, problem solving, strategic planning, multi-
tasking, quality focus, coordination, technical understanding, quick study, technical zeal.
Certifications are an asset (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, etc.).
