The Financial ReportingDepartment within BNY Mellon is responsible for the preparation of annual andsemi-annual financial statements for our clients and for the management of allaspects of the audit process.

The Department has responsibility for a broadrange of funds and produces financial statements under IFRS, Lux GAAP and USGAAP.

The Supervisor, FinancialReporting is responsible for ensuring that the preparation of the draftfinancial statements for a range of funds administered by BNY Mellon areproduced in an accurate, timely and efficient manner.

The role ensures thatservice is provided in line with client service level agreements and regulatoryrequirements and in accordance with agreed upon operating procedures.

Thisservice must be delivered in a cost efficient manner in a tightly controlledenvironment that ensures exposure to operating risk is minimised.

Therole :

  • needs to understand how the various teams in BNYMellon interact to produce the final Net Asset Values, and the importance offiling of financial statements with relevant authorities and the distributionof the financial statements to investors in a timely fashion.
  • needs to be familiar with various accountingstandards and how these are interpreted in the production of financialstatements.
  • identifies the operational requirements foreach client and co-ordinates the activities needed.
  • involves regular active communication with clients,prospective clients and internal teams.
  • may require managing / assisting with specialprojects and, new regulations.
  • involves daily interaction with clients andmany internal departments within AIS. The position holder will haveresponsibility for service delivery to allocated clients.
  • Key responsibilities :

  • Client Management - responsiblefor the provision of a proactive Financial Reporting service to clients,understanding the service requirements of all clients.
  • Service Delivery - primarilyresponsible for ensuring that Financial Reporting deliverables are consistentlydelivered in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Responsible for high standard ofservice delivery to clients within agreed timeframes. Maintain excellent client relationships.

  • Process Management audit queryresolution
  • Control Environment - Ensureadherence to internal and external policy and regulation. Ensure all errors, breaches or clientincidents are reported in line with current procedures.
  • New Business and StrategicPlanning - Support the identification and cultivation of expanded businesspotential with existing clients through regular client interaction and assistthe Relationship Management organisation in responding to new businessopportunities.
  • Qualifications

  • Degree / qualification in accounting, business orother qualifications relevant to the investment industry and in particularFinancial Reporting desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar rolewithin the funds industry or Big 4 audit experience with funds industry auditexperience.
  • Detailed knowledge of the funds industry andthe ability to recognise and respond to the needs and expectations of keystakeholders.
  • Strong legal and regulatory knowledge ofrunning business in a compliant manner.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills,especially in the area of Financial Reporting, including a thoroughunderstanding of various accounting standards including International FinancialReporting Standards and US GAAP.
  • Ability to cope with multiple priorities and coordinatethe efforts of others in order to bring a process to closure.
  • Self-directed and proactive in identifying,analysing and rectifying issues or situations that could lead to service issuesfor clients.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and totight deadlines.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills, ability tocommunicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, to a levelconsistent with delivering excellent client presentations, excellentrelationship management skills with clients and colleagues.
  • Will be interacting with many internal teams- Sales, Legal, Fund Accounting, TA, Clients Services etc.
