About the Team :

We are looking for a qualified and experienced CFO for Swiss Re Capital Markets Europe ("SRCME"). In your role as CFO for SRCME you will be responsible for the overall financial and capital management and reporting of the entity according to all relevant accounting valuations.

You will also be responsible for the financial reporting of Swiss Re Capital Markets Limited ("SRCML"). You will lead a small dedicated finance team.

The CFO for SRCME will be part of the Luxembourg carrier team. The Luxembourg carrier team has responsibility for the reporting and analysis of all the Reinsurance Business Unit regulated entities in Luxembourg.

About the role :

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :

  • Finance representative on the SRCME governance structures
  • Act as back-up for approval and execution of ILS and ECM transactions when CEO is not available
  • Together with the CEO, responsible for implementation of the internal governance strategies and guiding principles laid down by the SRCME board of directors
  • Responsible for high quality, accurate and timely statutory reporting and regulatory reporting
  • Responsible for high quality, accurate and timely group reporting (EVM and US GAAP)
  • Responsible for the preparation, delivery and presentation of required Board reporting
  • Responsible for maintaining / monitoring interactions between source systems and investment / general ledger systems
  • Oversee validity, accuracy & completeness of general ledger
  • Oversee and manage capital planning and capital management together with Group Treasury
  • Responsible for the overall financial planning for the legal entity
  • Oversight of local tax compliance and tax planning
  • Maintain and implement investment management guidelines for local statutory purposes; liaison with Asset Management
  • Responsible for ensuring relevant intergroup service agreements / outsourcing are in place and in compliance with local regulations
  • In cooperation with all involved Finance units, ensure that financial reporting risk are appropriately managed including documentation, assessment and monitoring of key controls
  • Monitor financial reporting control issues identified and make sure they are resolved appropriately and on a timely basis
  • Liaise with CRO and other legal entity key function holders on all Legal Entity & risk related matters
  • Communicates directly with various stakeholders (board members, executive management, regulators, internal clients)
  • Coordinate audit activities of Internal and External auditors
  • Engaging and communicating effectively with designated regulatory authorities and industry bodies
  • Concerning Projects, would be responsible for Finance oversight, impact study / analysis and implementation
  • Drives excellence in compliance and control environment activities which complies with best practice principles and adheres to a proper monitoring framework and established internal and external KPIs
  • Lead and manage a small dedicated finance team
  • Helps attract, train / develop, and retain top talent.
  • Motivates strong performance from staff including oversight of competencies required to deliver accounting and reporting responsibilities
  • About You :

  • Strong background in various types of financial instruments, including derivative product

  • Requirements :

  • CA, CFA or similar qualification.
  • 10 years relevant working experience in financial services
  • Strong working knowledge of Local and International reporting standards (IFRS and US GAAP, Lux GAAP beneficial)
  • Strong working knowledge of CSSF and / or FCA reporting requirements
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
