Their Luxembourg-based office has served as a strategic operational hub for their European interests for more than a decade, however until now all commercial, product and client service operations have originated within the originating country of the bank.
The opportunity : the decision has been reached to establish a full scale Private Banking operation in Luxembourg encompassing an initial team of c.15 banking professionals.
The Context : The Credit Manager will be responsible for the development of different life-cycle loans stages in order to meet all EU and Luxembourg regulatory requirements.
He / She will also ensure a proper execution, sustainable and proactive Credit Analysis Management in line with the Group.
Furthermore, the Credit Manager will be analyzing credit data and financial information of persons and / or companies that are applying for credit or loans to determine the risk that the Bank will incur based on finding to help make decisions on credit approval process.
The Role :
Conduct financial and credit statement analysis employing a combination of fundamental, quantitative and qualitative techniques.
Analyzing LatAm and European financial statements in languages such as Spanish, Portuguese and English.
Responsible for all asset quality credit related activities and specific inquiries performed by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF).
Manage credit rating changes within borrowers of the credit portfolio and prepare propose recommendations to management regarding the workout loan / assets.
Control, monitor and update the Banks’s credit policies and manual of procedures and for ongoing and financial analysis of existing borrowers.
Utilization of online credit scoring applications to evaluate the overall strengths and weaknesses and financial soundness of the borrowers in LatAm and Europe.
Perform Credit analysis on the Bank’s vendors.
Prepare analysis of current trends and developments in the industry segments of the Banks credit portfolio.
Deliver financial analysis reports covering the Banks credit portfolio products.
Manage proactively the life-cycle stage of the loans such as past-due, forbornes, defaults, write-offs.
Review earnings releases from potential banking partners.
Write support materials for monthly portfolio presentations detailing the bank’s balance sheet, profits, risk profile and exposure to various economic sectors.
Liaise with Bankers in LatAm and in London in terms of credit assessment and related.
Review of corporate KYC documentation.
Screening of all names associated with the corporate documentation.
Periodic customer review of each corporate (based on Internal Credit Rating).
Producing / presenting periodic Credit Reports (e.g.
to SM, Credit Committee etc.).
Your Profile :
Experience c.4+ years in Banking industry and credit analysis on a LatAm and European economic groups;
Knowledge of the LatAm Foreign Exchange regulations;
Knowledge about regulatory environment (Basel III, IFRS9, etc.).
Strong knowledge in all types of Credit Assessment Methodologies;
Understand the issues involved in banking business, including key financial dynamics and drivers related to Credit Analysis;
Self-motivation, Team player with a high level of integrity and self-discipline;
Fluency in Portuguese and English is essential;
