Your responsibilities

Radar-based systems will play an increasingly important role in the future automotive development. IEE is continuously looking for innovative applications and solutions in that field.

During this project, a sensor fusion of a 24 GHz radar together with an accelerometer (g-sensor) should be implemented in the interior of a vehicle, where the main goal is to prepare such a system and conduct simultaneous measurements.

  • Understanding the system functionality and requirements (system basics, predefined requirements, introduction to radar basics will be provided by the team)
  • Developing a measurement setup for mobile data acquisition in the vehicle’s interior (hardware components as well as sensors are available)
  • Establishing the data link between measurement setup, computer for data representation, and algorithm development
  • Putting the system into work and evaluating the measurements
  • Documenting the results
  • Your profile

  • Ongoing studies in engineering, industrial engineering, natural sciences or equivalent
  • Good knowledge / experience in data acquisition systems, National Instruments or MATLAB
  • Hands-on experience in hardware design is an asset
  • A basic understanding of radar and accelerometer working principle is preferable
  • Ability to work independently in an international, multilingual team
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required, German is considered an asset
  • Duration : 6 months
