Radar-based systems will play an increasingly important role in the future automotive development. IEE is continuously looking for innovative applications and solutions in that field.
During this project, a sensor fusion of a 24 GHz radar together with an accelerometer (g-sensor) should be implemented in the interior of a vehicle, where the main goal is to prepare such a system and conduct simultaneous measurements.
Understanding the system functionality and requirements (system basics, predefined requirements, introduction to radar basics will be provided by the team)
Developing a measurement setup for mobile data acquisition in the vehicle’s interior (hardware components as well as sensors are available)
Establishing the data link between measurement setup, computer for data representation, and algorithm development
Putting the system into work and evaluating the measurements
Documenting the results
Ongoing studies in engineering, industrial engineering, natural sciences or equivalent
Good knowledge / experience in data acquisition systems, National Instruments or MATLAB
Hands-on experience in hardware design is an asset
A basic understanding of radar and accelerometer working principle is preferable
Ability to work independently in an international, multilingual team
Good communication skills
Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required, German is considered an asset
Duration : 6 months
