Volvo Bus Corporation works with cities around the globe with the aim of improving quality of life by implementing efficient, clean and silent public transport systems.

The E-Bus Competence Center in Luxemburg is in charge of the Luxembourgish market for Volvo Bus Corporation.

Hosted and supported by Volvo’s official Bus dealer, Truck and Bus Service, in Livange, the team is focused on developing and establishing complete solutions for cities, leveraging fuel efficient and environmentally sustainable passenger transports in combination with efficient planning of traffic.

The E-Bus Competence Center in Luxemburg is also supporting the different European markets with key city mobility competence throughout the business development, sales and project execution phases.

Last the E-Bus Competence Center launches and manages research projects around ITS and Telematics.

Besides, the E-Bus Competence Center is in charge of the customers’ relationships with public authorities and private operators in order to develop business and market shares and to anchor the presence of Volvo Bus in Luxembourg.

Job Purpose We are looking for a highly motivated : SERVICE SUPPORT ENGINEER M / F Electro mobility has come to the bus public transport business which means that our buses are becoming more electric and public transport even more modular.

This has resulted in new opportunities but also new challenges.

In order to take advantage of these opportunities and tackle the new challenges, these buses are embedded with advanced systems which allow us to maintain, repair, monitor and control them in very new ways.

  • This gives us the possibility to deliver new services and business solutions, resulting in improved business processes and increased productivity to our customers;
  • namely bus operators, public transport operators, authorities and dealers.

    The main task is to secure customer satisfaction and vehicles’ availability.

    To increase the uptime of the vehicles is one of our main challenges.

    Another aspect of the mission will be the interface role between Volvo Bus Corporation and our customers by having an overview of the activities made by the dealer, providing support when needed and trying to support the processes ran by the Volvo motherhouse as much as possible.

    Main Tasks / Responsibilities / Authorities Create a good and trustworthy relation with the dealer and the customers Interface the customers and Volvo Bus Corporation regarding technical activities Support the customers and dealer with after sales activities Be the voice of the market within Volvo technical meetings Be able to connect with Volvo technical experts when specific issues occur Manage key performance indicators on uptime of vehicles Report activities to the customers and to the Service Market Manager Bus for Belux Work closely together with the Belgium Field Service Engineer and Volvo Bus Headquarter and Factories Secure that the Volvo processes are fulfilled regarding issues Required Education, skills, experience and competencies Bachelor or Master degree in (automotive) Engineering or equivalent Experience in Automotive Industry A professional approach and good co-

    operation skills Knowledge and competence through studies, hobbies and / or work experience in / with : Electrical vehicles and / or electrical installations Experience with fault tracing / diagnostic programs Automotive technology A structured approach towards competence planning and assessment work Strong communication and negotiation skills Results oriented personality, with a proactive approach Able to work in an environment with cross-
