Position and Department : Senior Manager- Risk and Valuation Oversight

REPRESENTATION : Risk Management / Compliance / Valuations

Reports to : Board of AIFM

Employed by : Tishman Speyer Luxembourg Sarl & AIFM of EU Funds in Luxembourg

Role and Responsibilities

Risk Management

  • Overseeing the implementation of, sustaining, and developing, the firms RMP and liaising with the firms external risk management and corporate governance advisors on the RMP.
  • Overseeing and supervising all aspects related to risk management on real estate transactions of the AIFs
  • Design and maintain a comprehensive risk reports at asset and Fund level
  • Working with the firms risk manager to identify, monitor, assess, manage risk and advise management / board on risk management for the purpose of risk avoidance, reduction or relocation.
  • Development, control and continuous updating of methods, procedures and processes for the identification, measurement, control and reporting of risks on CBA and fund levels and their recording in a risk management manual in the implementation of all regulatory and statutory requirements for risk management
  • Create internal organization instructions to ensure compliance with risk management regulations
  • Conception, creation and continuous development of analysis processes and reports (standard and ad hoc reporting) including limit monitoring and violation.
  • Regular and, if necessary, extraordinary review of the risk management manual and assurance of adaptation to new legal regulations and procedural requirements
  • Participate in the development of a risk strategy of the company and ensure its integration into the overall corporate management as well as compliance with the requirements of risk management in the operational areas
  • Ongoing identification and assessment of all risks in terms of relevance and impact, checking compliance with the risk profiles of the individual investments with their specified risk limits and regular reporting to management and the Supervisory Board to secure a risk-
  • based decision-making basis for the management and the derivation of recommended actions

    Valuation

  • Overseeing and managing the valuation function of the AIFM in accordance with its Valuation Policy and reporting to the board of the AIFM, with the assistance of the firms valuation officer
  • Appointing external valuers
  • Liaising with auditors on valuation matters
  • Preparation of regular valuation reports to the board
  • Compliance & Anti-Money Laundering

  • Overseeing with the assistance of the group’s compliance function the firms compliance programme (CMP)
  • Acting as the MLRO representative within the firm working closely with group’s AML function.
  • AIFM Policies and Procedures

  • Advising and securing all controlling tasks of the management through internal processes.
  • Development and maintenance of planning, control and information structures (i.e. AIFM policies)
  • Reviewing and updating the AIFMs policies annually and as needed
  • BCP and DR

  • Planning, co-ordination and annual testing of the AIFMs DR and BCP processes and procedures
  • Cybersecurity and Data protection

  • Overseeing with the Firms IT and Compliance and Legal team the firm’s cybersecurity framework
  • Ensuring the firms meet its data protection requirements
  • Governance and audit

  • Cooperation with the auditor in relation to the corporate governance Assisting the management in the preparation of Supervisory Board and Conducting Officer meetings including by preparing all necessary reports.
  • Chairing and leading weekly Conducting Officer meetings
  • Qualification and competences

  • Degree in business administration / finance with a focus on the real estate industry or comparable degree
  • 5 6 years senior-level risk management and valuation experience in real estate companies or in the the Big 4
  • Current or past CSSF conducting officer approval for risk management would be an advantage / or ALRIM and ALFI membership
  • Real estate experience

    Familiarity with Luxembourg Tax regimes and real estate

    Familiarity with Luxembourg AIF, AIFM, Luxco, holdco and SPV corporate structuring

  • Fluent in English German and / or, French would be considered as strong asset
  • At least 5 -6 years of professional experience in comparable real estate companies

    Very good analytical and conceptual skills as well as strategic thinking

  • Very good knowledge and experience in real estate valuation commercially and financially, especially in risk assessment
  • German, French and Excellent knowledge and application capabilities of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Able to obtain information quickly and pass it on quickly and accurately
  • Able to effectively communicate internally and externally with representatives of various functions and levels
  • Able to produce accurate and concise reports and memoranda
  • Ensures deadlines, is reliable and requires minimal guidance to complete its tasks.
  • Checks the own work results for correctness and quality
  • Has the ability to assess problems, obtain support if necessary, or make the necessary decisions.
