Amazon is currently looking for a highly analytical, creative and forward-thinking Senior Finance Analyst to join its ever-

growing Retail Finance team at our European headquarters in the vibrant city of Luxembourg.

Position Description

The Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) will own the retail finance function for our Pan-EU Processes (European Inventory Management and Pan-

EU Sourcing) and partner with the commercial management of the business to meet the financial and operational targets. This role will give you a deep understanding of how Amazon delights its customers in Europe by offering millions of items in stock.

In this role you will own the controllership of the businesses and work cross-functionally and cross-geography establishing best in class processes, analysis, controls and reporting.

Through your work you will identify productivity improvement initiatives and derive opportunities to boost the key drivers of the business.

The role is very broad based and will require someone who is motivated to make a big impact.

Role Responsibilities

  • Collect, consume and manage quantitative data to identify business improvement and cost reduction opportunities
  • Perform root cause analysis and uncover core issues using data, then work with the business to develop improvement plans and new performance indicators
  • Recommend, develop and implement policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its profitability
  • Manage the development of all planning, forecasting and reporting models. Look for opportunities to improve and simplify these models
  • Guide our tactics and strategy with persuasive arguments backed up by solid data
  • Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key data is accurate, automated and timely
  • Provide level-headed guidance during unexpected events

  • Ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholder environment
  • Excellent analytical skills, including basic statistical analysis and an ability to crunch huge amounts of data.
  • The ability to get into the details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects
  • Solid interpersonal skills including written and oral communication skills
  • Skills / Experience :

  • 6-8 years of relevant finance experience
  • Demonstrated ability to guide cross-functional projects or teams
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage financial models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving
  • Advanced Excel user, VBA a plus
  • Comfortable in a datawarehouse - SQL environment
  • Used to handling of large amounts of data
  • Qualifications :

  • Fluent in English.
  • Master's / Bachelor's degree in business, finance, math or related field, or relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of planning and purchasing systems familiarity with the basic theories of supply chain
  • Experience with Data Warehouse, COGNOS and SQL (Redshift) is a big plus.
