AIFMD and UCITS V are key regulations impacting Fund Asset Managers for whom BBH provides Depositary Bank Services. We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to join our Depositary Bank team.

The Depository Bank Team Leader is responsible for, amongst other things, managing a team of Depositary Analysts who assess, analyze, and monitor risks and control issues for the products and services falling under the scope of the Depository Bank obligations.

The individual provides consultative support in determining an appropriate resolution and coordinates the implementation of actions.

1. Risk Management and Control :

  • Monitor, report, define and document critical internal control processes and issues requiring escalation.
  • Identify areas of risk during control reviews or reporting review from other departments.
  • Formulate corrective actions for complex issues to resolve identified exceptions.
  • Coordinate the requirements which arise with respect to the Depository Bank Committee, client and third parties due diligence and new business opportunities.
  • Evaluate regulatory developments, assess potential impacts on the Firm operations and work with relevant department to ensure effective implementation of controls and workflows.
  • Manage the onboarding review process for clients which includes coordination with client service managers, service delivery teams (e.
  • g., custody, fund accounting, transfer agency), and meet with external clients

  • Manage the Depositary Bank Continuous Oversight and Monitoring Model (DBCOMM) requirements for clients
  • 2. Communication :

  • Communicate clearly with business area contacts as well as other areas of the Bank.
  • Maintain effective working relationships at relevant levels with other departments.
  • Develop and maintain peer relationships to share best practices.
  • Inform existing clients about regulatory developments and practical / operational considerations.
  • Inform prospects on depository oversight requirement in relation to the Firm new business on-boarding process.
  • 3. Regulator / external auditor :

  • Assist in the preparation and review documentation for regulators and external auditors
  • Interact with Senior Manager regarding questions from regulators and external auditors
  • 4. Project Management :

  • Instruct peers, plan, schedule, and coordinate project activities.
  • Work effectively with colleagues toward a common goal, while maintaining own role and responsibilities within the context of an overall project.
  • 5. Leadership / Staff Supervision :

  • Maintain a leadership role by developing internal relationships with key people in other departments to accomplish goals and resolve issues.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to staff to improve individual and team performance.
  • Organize and coordinate the allocation of the team workload to ensure that all deliverables and deadlines are met in a timely fashion
  • Other Considerations :

  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration
  • 5 years depositary bank oversight, audit / risk management or relevant business line experience (Custody, Fund Accounting, Portfolio Compliance, Transfer Agency)
  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills with ability to present complex and sensitive issues
  • Proven technical skills in accounting, finance and regulation
  • Advanced knowledge in European and local regulatory requirements
  • External or internal audit risk management certification a plus
